Decommissioning Nuclear Power Plants

This page will serve to collect information on the decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear power plants.  A number of plants have been completely removed, some are in progress, while others are sitting "in state" awaiting eventual dismantling.  New companies have sprung up to take full control of the decommissioning process and turn the sites back to the owners when done - more or less a "turn key" process.  New developments continue in this field, which will only grow as time goes on and more plants reach the end of their lives.
