Further details on Russian barge..

Here is a PDF file that has a good number of details regarding the SUZURAN, the Russian ROSATOM barge that TEPCO would like to get over to Fukushima Daiichi.

SOME DETAILS OF SUZURAN IN THIS REPORT

The barge's normal occupation is to assist with the decommissioning of former USSR nuclear submarines at Zvezda Shipyard.

  2. Very informative post.
    The specs in the report say processing capacity is 7000 cubic meters/yr of waste with contamination up to 370,000 bequerels/liter. So this is for low level wastes only.
    Still, right now Fukushima could use more than one.

  3. @maxedoutmama: I see a drop in suppression pool readings, from the ten to the zero power range on April 1 to some readings now at nine times ten to the minus one power presently. Is that what you're talking about?
